My name is Troy, and at Your Dyslexia Expert, we make learning fun, supportive, and effective.
I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and CERI-certified Dyslexia Specialist. In addition to my CALT training, I am trained in many other approaches, including several Orton-Gillingham methods. If you're tired of the same old approach that isn't working for your child, our online dyslexia support services offer something different and proven to work. I provide personalized lessons for children, using practical tips, tools, and techniques that make learning easier and stress-free. With small client lists, I also support parents through IEP/504 advocacy, executive functioning strategies, and family guidance.
Our enjoyable online tutoring builds confidence, reduces stress, and supports families to ensure we are helping every learner succeed.

ABOUT LISA
My name is Lisa, and I support tutors and families in helping students in their reading journey. I am a scientist by training, with a BA in Microbiology and an MS in Biology, which has given me a huge advantage when it comes to evaluating research critically.
I found that as I finished my master's degree, I wasn't ready to be done with school yet, but wanted a different role. That led me into an 8-year-long career as a middle school science teacher. Between my love of science, my experience in education, and my passion for closing gaps in education, I can help families and tutors provide personalized support in reading and executive functioning/ADHD.
ABOUT BRANDI
My name is Brandi Barlow. I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and hold a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Special Education. Trained in Alphabetic Phonics and Reading by Design, I specialize in identifying literacy gaps and providing targeted, research-aligned instruction to address them.
My goal is to help parents better understand their child’s learning profile and provide instruction designed to strengthen foundational skills and support meaningful reading growth. My approach combines systematic teaching, careful progress monitoring, and compassionate support to help each learner build confidence and make steady progress.
ABOUT AMANDA
Hi, my name is Amanda Ryan and I'm a certified teacher with a Master's in Literacy Education and degrees in both Special and General Education. I'm trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and provide structured, supportive reading instruction tailored to each child's unique needs. I'm passionate about helping students build confidence and strong foundational skills. Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family, going for hikes and exploring the mountains.
ABOUT XIOMARA
Xiomara “Xio” Carmona Reyes is a multilingual literacy and ESL educator who is passionate about helping students grow into confident, successful readers. Fluent in English, Spanish, and German, she brings a culturally responsive perspective to her work with learners from diverse backgrounds. With over 10 years of teaching experience in the U.S. and internationally, Xio takes an individualized, engaging approach with every student.
Her literacy training includes structured literacy, Orton-Gillingham–based instruction, the Science of Reading, UFLI Foundations, Really Great Reading, Lexercise, and Lindamood-Bell’s Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing programs. She especially enjoys building meaningful connections with her students and creating a supportive learning environment where they feel encouraged, capable, and proud of their progress.
When she’s not teaching, Xio loves traveling, spending time at the beach, and enjoying some good fried chicken!
